Tooth Decay:
Tooth Decay is one of the leading causes of tooth pain. When your enamel becomes thinner, your teeth can become more sensitive to temperatures which results in sharp and sudden pain.
Infection:
A tooth infection happens when bacteria infect your tooth. This can be caused by either a chip, crack, or a cavity. If you do not complete a proper oral health routine, you are more likely to develop an infection.
Teeth Grinding:
If you have found yourself waking up with a headache or a sore jaw, then you could be grinding your teeth in your sleep. Clenching your jaw for hours while you sleep can cause tooth pain. We will be able to tell if you struggle with clenching or grinding, we will be able to help you when you come in for your appointment.
An Abnormal Bite:
An uneven bite can place strain on your jaw muscles which in turn results in tooth and mouth pain. Sometimes this can also lead to TMJ (Temporomandibular joint disorder).
Tooth Eruption:
If you have children, either infants or school aged kids, you will be well-versed in the pain that an eruption can bring. It starts around the age of 6 months for infants while older children start to lose their teeth between 6-7 years old.
